We live in northern Europe and we like to come to Spain to live outside. We've made a reservation for two weeks at a price of € 2500 per week. So when paying € 5000 for a stay of two weeks we really expect a quality that reflects the price. Firstly I have to say we have ZERO remarks on the house itself, everything is up to standard and homely. Unfortunately the main motive for our holidays - living outside- is quite unfulfilled. The outside dining area - which is roughly 3 x 3 m - is completely encapsulated by the old stone walls which effectively block any view whatsoever to what could have been quite the sight to the valley under the hill. To make matters worse the 'estate' is/was used for growing almonds, the trees of which attract a hoard of insects such as flies, wasps and the like that will make it impossible to have your meal outside. As it is we have stopped trying and are having our food inside in the best days of summer. Apart from that there is NO garden. The property consists of rocks and cultivation trees. To reach the swimming pool, which is actually a pond of 0.9 meters depth you have to cross a distance of 50 meters over the rocky plot of land. Again, flies and wasps made us go nuts and apart from being inside the pond we didn't have the possibility to lay in the sun or even finish a page reading a book without slapping around at all the vermin. This property is a perfect getaway in the cold winter months as the house is large and homely and is very secluded and private. For people like us specifically it should not be marketed for reasons I mentioned earlier. Of course everything depends on expectations so for some people this house may be everything they need. In any case we would set the pricing of this listing at around € 700-800 per week, not the € 2500 that we payed. It may very well be that the land surrounding the house is huge, unless you have a specific interest in rocks and almond trees this should have no added value other than seclusion and the privacy that comes with it. For this reasons we have decided to leave one week ahead of schedule as we found another listing in Southern France on the way back home.
