This place is just beautiful. A pearl in Amed. If you want to escape the rush you will relax here. Great bungalows with outdoor beds and bathrooms. Sweet and helpful staff and great service. You definitely want to stay here!

We spent five days in a bungalow and meditasi and really enjoyed our experience. The rooms are spacious and have a lovely day bed out in front where it's possible just to hang out. The staff are great and all very friendly and funny. The owner even invited us to participate in his once a year house blessing ceremony (we were lucky to be there on that day!) which was really nice to watch). Be aware, though, that you may be woken up by the sounds of boats going into the water at 4AM.

Breakfast is a bit small and leaves you hungry soon after. And since you are in Aas, there are no warungs around where you can get cheap food. You're a bit at the mercy of the kitchen at the guest house. They do cook good food, though, but some plates are overpriced (nasi campur for 60,000). Other than that, our stay was perfect.

We spend three nights in this resort. With no Wifi and no telephone!.The peace and loving care of the staff, the good energy of the place, the simple life of the fishermen of the area, makes of this a perfect spot for quiet meditation and inner exploration. Is a must!

Room Tip: Get a bamboo bungalow

We came to stay for two nights last week and just got stuck here...This is a perfect place for a simple life.

The bamboo bungalows are right on the beach. Their bamboo construction up on stilts has them breathing beautifully in the sea breeze.

As well as the king size bed with four poster mosquito net inside there is a double day bed on the verandah which gives a sweeping view of Amed's coast and the wide horizon ahead. There's hardly a sound but for the gentle waves at Aas Beach.

Aas beach can be a little rocky and though it is very peaceful and sheltered, you should be careful when swimming as there are corals. However, this makes for a lot of life under the water making it a beautiful spot for snorkelling. You can also have a local fishermen take you snorkelling at some of the great spots like the coral garden and the Japanese shipwreck nearby. Aas Beach is a bit isolated but a few other services are available in house (eg massage, cooking class) pretty much at normal market price.

This is probably the most peaceful place I have been and probably the best beachside accommodation (at a frankly amazing price) I have ever been in.

If you don't want a place of peace and simplicity than this probably isn't for you. But if you do this is a great place to be.

Room Tip: If you call, you will be asked if you want the view or not. The view costs a bit more. It is worth...

I really enjoyed staying at Meditasi and will be returning, next time for longer( and do the cooking class that is offered). It was peaceful (admittedly a quiet time of year in November), with no tv and computer access, so I had plenty of time to rest, contemplate, hey, even some meditation. Instead of tv I would lie on the outdoor bed and watch the boats, or watch the changing patterns of the sea, or watch the clouds go by. The food was exceptionally good and I loved trying the 'ceremonial' foods. I also enjoyed the choice of music that was played at the restaurant. as well as the reggae band that played on Sunday. So if you want to stay in a back to basics type of bungalow with a price to match, then do come and try Meditasi. And if you are interested in learning to meditate, this might just be the place for you to start.
