We booked MW houses as a last minute decision and I´m so glad that we did it. We wanted a place as a base to our planned trail route in Serra da Lousã and our house (Casa da Nogueira) was a perfect choice.
Gondramaz is a very quiet xist village and if you come here to seek peace, calm and to be offline, you are on the right place.
The owner gave us precise instructions how to park and to find the house, and the check in process was very smooth and without personal contact, due to covid restrictions.
Our small house was perfect, very clean and very comfortable, with a fireplace that warmed even more the space, besides the heating system. We had a few problems connecting to the wifi (remind you that there is no cell service in Gondramaz, so no data), but we sorted it and the rest of the stay was perfect.
Breakfast is pre-ordered and delivered in a cozy basket: good quality and good selection of ingredients, avoiding waste.
There is also a small kitchenette with the essentials to fetch a quick meal.
Margarida and her staff do a great job in keeping these houses so neat and so unique, making the difference and providing guests an authentic experience.

Wonderful stay, the house (Casa da Maria) was fully equipped with everything we needed, the staff was always very helpful. There is a 5m walk from the parking lot to the house, this is explained

I would definitely recommend a stay here.

The Shale Villages of Portugal are now a sort of National treasure.

Gondramaz isn't the exception and the Casa da Terra (one of the houses belonging to Mountain Whisper) was a marvel of good taste.

Very comfortable and with everything you need to feel at home (during summer or winter), this little 2 bedroom house has a lot of charm and is equipped with a kitchen, wifi, satellite TV and a fireplace.

For breakfast, we just had to walk a couple of minutes to the small coffee place (that also acts as the main reception of Mountain Whisper) to enjoy bread, jams, homemade cakes, juices and coffee. Everything was delicious and very pleasant. The staff were very friendly and the coffee place even has its own mini pool and offers great views to the Serra da Lousã.

If you're looking for a good night sleep and profound silence, you've come to the right place.

PROTIP: The houses have a kitchen and it's a 20min ride to the city... Before heading to the village, buy some groceries so you'll be able to cook if you don't want to leave for diner. The local coffee place closes at 6pm so if you don't bring anything with you, you'll need to drive down the mountain in order to find a restaurant.

Room tip: If wifi is really needed, check-in early and test the wifi in the room. The router sometimes needs to be rebooted (by the staff).

It’s difficult to convey the feelings we had before even walking in the door. A picturesque village where only 10 people live that looks as if we are still in the medieval times. And when we entered the room we felt at home from the first moment. It’s not luxurious and it would be completely inappropriate if it would have been. It’s beautiful, it’s clean, it’s rustic and i wouldn’t like it any other way!
