We visited on a Sunday after a little drive. We saw the plough and thought we would take a look. We where pleasantly surprised as as you look at the pub the frontage it lets it down. Once you step inside it has a lovely feel and great decor. The staff and locals where very friendly, They have a nice beer garden and also a sports room showing football etc. We have a quick look at the menu and although we had a panini the choice and price for all of the food was brilliant. I had a small steak and onion panini which came with curly fries and side salad for £4, great value. As well as good food they had a great selection of local ales. This place is a great find and i would strongly recommend it if you visiting or travelling through.

Traditional carved ham, egg and chips..£7.50...chips were reheated and soggy. Two thin poor pieces of ham, surrounded by fat. Ham looked decidedly pale to the extent that I actually smelt it...very poor value..certainly well less than £1 of food on the plate...But the chips the chips yak...strange that nice villages can't support a decent pub..Sat evening on a bank holiday and hardly anyone in only one other couple eating and soon as they finished they were off...as were we. Don't recommend at all.

Went here for a family meal- recommended through somebody else. To be honest I would never have thought to go here otherwise.

We found it to be busy and the staff were working very hard. But they acknowledged us all the time and very polite with a cheerful attitude. They were upfront about the wait and the food tasted fresh when we got it and so we didn't mind chatting whilst it was being prepared. Not one person had anything to complain about with any meal (6 of us), and if anything: we spoke about how good it surprisingly tasted.

It is not a 'posh' restaurant but it is not trying to be! All walks of life in there chatting the night away over drinks or meals. The prices are reasonable. Place surprisingly clean (including toilets) and atmosphere felt happy and buzzing.

I will be returning again because we felt welcomed and part of the evening atmosphere. I like the charm it has managed to have.

And the people below who complained about their dog not being allowed in need to get a life. I have a dog so you would think I would be on your side. Guide dog: yes. Any odd dog: no. Come on people are eating. Place your dog in the car, go drop it off first (if possible) , tie it up outside or one of you sit with it outside. But don't give a place 1 for them thinking of all customers not just you. It is not just a pub; there is food to consider.

Full respect to the staff trying to make this work for them. You are going about it the right way - with a good attitude to working. The word will continue to spread with your positive attitudes.
