What a beautiful cottage! Daleside is a generous sized cottage with lots of period features and home comforts - lovely bath with plenty of hot water and cosy log burning stove. Perfect location on the top of a hill with beautiful walks to Bakewell (2 miles), Lathkill dale, and Youlgreave - we parked the car and didn't drive all week! Owner on hand if you need but not intrusive - great romantic getaway!
We would most definitely recommed a stay in this property. I don’t really have the words to describe how perfect this little cottage is! My Husband and I felt completely removed from the hectic life we lead and was just amazing for some much needed relaxation. The pooch loved it too! The garden was all enclosed so we could sit and have a glass of wine whilst he could wander down the garden!
There are some really cute little pubs and some lovely walks through the most beautiful of places. Christine’s recommendations we’re spot on. If you’re thinking about booking just do it, you won’t be disappointed!!
Our second stay at Daleside cottage certainly didn't disappoint! A very cosy, comfortable and well-appointed cottage in a great location - plenty of good walks straight from the door, which our dog certainly appreciated. He was also much delighted by the thoughtful bowl of dog treats Christine left out for him!
We would highly recommend a stay at Daleside if you're looking for a comfortable and relaxing break.
Daleside Cottage overlooks Over Haddon Church and gives a lovely view over the distant hills. It is peaceful, spacious, comfortable and exudes warmth with its tasteful furnishing, a welcoming vase of garden flowers and other touches. The garden is a delight. From the cottage are many walks, there is a pub nearby and Bakewell is a short drive away for restaurants and shopping.
This has been our second visit which, ‘ though the weather was cool and wet at times this year, was just as enjoyable as the first. One of the outstanding places we drove to was Eyam, the village which isolated itself during the plague in the 1600’s.
Christine is quick to respond to enquiries, always helpful, and dogs are welcome too.
What more can we say?
Great having the doors wide open all weekend, Aggie (our terrier) loved it again and thanks for the little treats for her and us. We were proud to go the whole weekend without having the telly on at all.
