We had only one night in Puerto Morelos. When we discovered that the seafood restaurant we had originally chosen for dinner was closed we went to plan B: stroll the charming little town til another spot caught our eye. When we reached El Pesquero the plastic chairs in the sand seemed familiar and we realized we had been here before (we were taken to lunch here about 6 years ago by our dive guide who had the mariachis sing to me when he realized it was my birthday. A lovely memory!)
The margaritas were excellent, strong and reasonably priced. Don't let the laid back atmosphere fool you. Our server was an old school professional with a thorough knowledge of the menu and a quiet efficiency. We followed his suggestion to order the smaller sized mixto seafood ceviche and it was more than enough - and delicious!
