This is a quaint beachside resort that is a throwback to 1990's Phuket with regards to the hotel's architecture and laid back charm.
Arriving post-Songkran, we were given a room rate of USD 50 per night for a seaview bungalow which I think is very good value. This resort was precisely what we needed after 5 days partying at Surin beach.
The location, adjacent to 4 star rated Best Western, and in the shadow of world class Āman Puri, is definitely hard to beat. Bang Tao bay is vast, quiet and very clean, the water quality similar to nearby Surin beach. Being West-facing, the sunsets are something to look forward to.
The bungalow is clean, cosy, and old-Thai charm, with a veranda overlooking a well-manicured garden, and the ocean 20m in front.
The pool is like a large jacuzzi, perfect for splashing in, cold beer in hand, listening to the waves crash just beyond the sea wall. The restaurant is right on the beach and has a sunset view.
I guess we were lucky as it's the start of low season here and there weren't many guests, so it felt private and exclusive.
