You must try the garlic bread and the greek salad - for us it was a surprise of good taste. We recommend the fresh fish and the oven cooked shrimps. The people are very nice and they understood English.

The place is nice as it has a terrace on the small port. Starters were good. We had curgette croquette (the only starter that was insipid), a sour cheese pie, snails in tomato sauce, stuffed vine leaves which were quite good. As main dishes we had one stir fried lamb with onions (all fat and in little quantity, first time in Greece) and one ram which was better than the lamb. Maybe mine was a wron choice as I saw better and bigger dishes on other tables. Overrated

Very good location amazing view fresh fish and all the traditional food of Crete including goat and lamb. Watermelon with raki offered by the house at a very reasonable price .Don't miss it if you happen to visit Cora Sfakion

Every time we visit Crete (three times a year) we include a 2hour drive down to Chora Sphakion and invariably a lunch at Taverna Nikos. 99% of the other local tavernas only open in the summer season (you should see the frantic scene in March/April as they paint and repair EVERYTHING!).
Taverna Nikos is not tremendously innovative or cutting-edge, it just offers genuine local dishes cooked well and served by a friendly and chatty family member, always offering his "father's garlic bread' which is the best ever tasted!

Best thing here is the nice, friendly waiter. And the view. The food is fine, though we didn't feel good enough to return.
