Villa Morissolina
Reviewed 4 July 2015

As a result of our splendid visit the first time we booked a group visit, for a residential course, which was excellent, the weather was slightly chillier in the evenings, the food was even better, with Thomas (the chef) having taken into account the needs for less salt, and the group had vegetarians vegans. and generally difficult to cater for group members. All handled with apparent ease

Room Tip: Front of the hotel has best views overlooking Lake Majiore

The drive up the mountain from the lake road at Cannero Riviera isn't for the faint hearted but arriving at Villa Morissolina you'll soon discover it was well worth it! The 1960's villa is furnished with antiques and some original murano glass chandeliers and is somewhat old fashioned but the rooms are comfortable and we had a large balcony with a great view of the lake. The breakfasts were excellent with a large choice of homemade preserves with a more German than Italian approach. We had the set 5 course dinner on each of the three nights we stayed and the food was interesting and different with Thomas using locally sourced ingredients. Particularly memorable was the carpaccio of veal with fennel and orange salad and the hand picked wild mushroom and homemade pasta. Carolin and Thomas were excellent hosts and this was a totally relaxing away from it all stay. We hope to return!!

This villa managed by Caroline and Thomas (the chef) provided an excellent stay for a group of Kinesiologists who were with me on a five day course, on energy medicine, the site was beautiful, the energy of the place was fine and did not distract from the nature of the work we had to do. The chef took trouble to create food which catered for the idiosyncrasies of the group, diet wise. The facilities were excellent for a five star unit this left nothing to be desired. I have no hesitation in recommending this site for any one, both for a serious purpose or as a relaxing holiday

This 5 star bed and breakfast is located high up a mountain and as a consequence you have the wonderful views.
The owners bought the property 5 years ago and have renovated it.
They offer a gourmet evening meal, and the owner 'creates' his own dishes from what appeals to him at the market or what he has in the garden! The artichoke cappuccino was delicious.

Incredibile/cosy place within a formerly privately owned villa managed as a B&B. this is definitivly a unique place to stay right above cannero on lake Maggiore. 15 min car drive and with a great kitchen and a wow view on the Lago Maggiore. Friendly family business and service.
