We always end up eating in great places because we use Tripadvisor as a belt and braces. We did a recce earlier in the day as we are staying just outside Radda. Pizza Pie is not the most inspiring name and looks like it could be for the tourists but it is definitely not. From the lovely Italian owner who played host and was in charge of sorting the bills in between having a well earned 2 mins on his cigarello outside to the ladies who worked tirelessly making the pizzas (didn’t stop from the minute we arrived until we left) the service was excellent. We waited a little while but who cares when we had the perfect seating by the door to watch the women at work creating these amazing pizzas. Lovely fresh ingredients and no scrimping. We order two large for 4 of us and ended up taking 4 slices home for cold lunch the next day. The whole bill was 55 euros including a 20 Euro bottle of wine and some water. Of course a huge tip was in order and it was great that the host took that tip from the money we gave and handed it to the lady in the open kitchen, it seems they keep the tips that side and hopefully share out at the end of the night. We’ll likely have a takeaway option later in the week and they do deliver locally as well. All in all excellent. Two night, two amazing eating experiences.
