Family oriented, very cosy and still professional and delicious. Highly recommended and be ready that you will return home with some bottles
I loved the wine, will certainly bring some of my friends over for good event. We tasted lots of dirrent wines, and we good perfect explanation by our host.
Our tour was conducted by the owner Michael and he was phenomenal! From the intro to the food, to the wine, to the cellar, everything was amazing! In addition, we showed up on the wrong day due to a scheduling error on our part and Michael was able to accommodate us anyway. He is extremely knowledgeable and they take great pride in making some fabulous wines including whites, rose and reds. We ended up buying some bottles to go! Highly recommend!
We took just an hour long bus from Bratislava to meet Martin at the winery / cellar. We had a really lovely experience, from tasting wines to learning about them as well as local culture. A very highly recommended addition to anyone seeking something interesting and fun near Bratislava and Modra. We ended up taking 2 bottles home too. Thank Martin!
Wonderful experience, very easily accessible from Bratislava. We took the train and a short bus ride to Modra to meet Martin (by taxi is also not very expensive) in Vino Fiala building - it is a beautiful, small yard and the wine cellar. The vineyards are in another place, but there is such an interesting explanation for this relating to the history of communism and impact on local winemaking. Martin really took the time to explain everything to us, and spent several hours showing us round, answering all of our questions and sharing many different types of delicious wine. We only booked on the same day (as it was a spontaneous trip) and he was still so generous with his time and made us feel so welcome in his business. We would really recommend a visit to Vino Fiala.
Thank you for the visit. It was inspiring to meet you too. We are happy you liked it with us.
On a trip to Europe, we decided to spend a night in Bratislava because my husband’s family immigrated to the US from the smaller villages outside of Bratislava around 1900. We don’t know much about his family, but records that we have show they were wine growers. We found out about the wine tour and thought we would try it to check out the area and learn some of the history of wine making in the region. When we arrived, Martin had set a wonderful table with treats prepared by his mother, and we tasted several wonderful wines at the table and also from the barrels in the wine cellar. We learned a lot about the area and the history of wine making. We also found out that Martin went to school with someone who had the same family name as ours. We are from northern Michigan, which is home to a growing wine industry. This tour reminded us a lot of the smaller wineries on the Leelanau Peninsula but with a much more personal touch and the depth of centuries of wine making.
