We were left standing in the rain, even though we paid already 4 weeks before. The owner didn't even help us to find an alternative.

We (a young couple) booked the bungalow-room for our last night after a 6 week-journey through southeastasia. We tried to contact the hotel one week before our stay via email and phone but they never replied. When we arrived at the hotel the owner told us that they are totally full. We made the reservation a few month before and we already paid. He just told us that we are not the first ones and that his ex wife is gone with the money. As we asked him to give us our money back, he underlined how happy he is that his name is not in the contract and that his lawyer told him that he is not responsible. He said we have to contact his ex wife (who always hung up the phone). As we asked him for another comparable advise/alternative to stay he just said there is no other hotel in the same categorie (false information).
So we were left standing in the rain, didn't got our money back, without any help to find a new hotel.
A very bad experience!

I do not recommend !!! Do not go there and especially do not pay for accommodation in advance !!! We made a reservation, we also communicated with the owner, we paid for it in advance. We booked accommodation for two nights, the first was at the beginning of our vacation and the other at the end. After arriving in the evening we had a big problem to find a hotel. Located on the dirt road, where you have a problem to open the car door, because the dust get immediately inside. Hotel was abandoned. The locals were very willing to help us. After an hour came a boy who did not know about our reservation. The first night we could stay there, but without breakfast, which we paid. In the morning, no one was in the hotel and we left without explanation. The second experience at this hotel was even worse. They sent us away from the hotel, said everything is booked. They did not want us to return our money. We left very sick and we found a new apartment. Hotel owners are crooks !!! These are very strong words, but I know what I'm writing. Please do not make the same mistake as us and find other accommodation.

I had some difficulty finding the guest house despite it only being a couple of miles south of the airport, but eventually discovered that I’d been right past it on the main road earlier. Hopefully most taxi drivers will have a better idea than the local people that I was asking for directions!
The rooms are laid out as independent bungalows and mine had an outdoor shower fenced in with bamboo which was fun.

The guest house provides basic but comfortable accommodation and the owner Bow was very accommodating, kindly providing transport on a motor scooter driven by a colleague, a bicycle for me to explore nearby and a lift back to the airport by car when I left. She also cooks some delicious meals in the kitchen right by the outdoor eating area. The pool looks like a nice spot for a beer but I didn’t have time to check that out.

If you are feeling the need for a bit of luxury, there is a helicopter pad set just back the other side of the road from the guest house, operated by Advance Aviation who offer sightseeing tours all around the island. Don’t worry, you won’t be troubled by noise at the guest house as they only have two choppers and they only fly when chartered.

So, fine for an economy base but you will need transport of some kind to get around. Would I stay there again? Yes.

location of property v good, nice and quiet & relaxing having use of the car and motorbike came in useful as you will need the use of these to get around, so helps if you can drive, if you don't drive then you will be stuck. five mins drive to Naithon Beach. there were a few things that let the villa down, the beds very hard ( unless you like too sleep on a hard bed) and could feel springs in the mattress which was uncomfortable, for added luxury they could put a memory foam topper on the bed. we were only given one towel each, until we asked for more, then clean towels every day or every other day, but these always came with a very musty damp smell.
The bedroom I choose to sleep in, had a very musty and damp smell, so only slept in there a for two nights as couldn't stand the smell as it was so strong, so moved to the third bedroom which was outside the villa its self, this room was fine but not much storage for your clothes.
The Kitchen could do with updating, old cupboards.

the pool area was nice and relaxing, but was let down with privacy, as the staff walked past to get to the laundry room and maintenance room.

the only other thing to add is, if you don't book through an agent, and book yourselves via internet they do ask for cash payment only, this is fine, but we were asked for it within 5 mins of arriving after a very very long flight, the next day we had to find an ATM but had to go back several times as were only allowed a certain amount each time, we explained this to the owner, but until it was paid in full( after a couple of days) we were asked continually even of the cleaner!!
one last thing, there is no restaurant if you want food for the evening you have to inform the owner 3 to 4 hours before, so she can prepare it, this we did not do.
