I needed an overnight stop while away in the north of England on business and this placed looked charming and off the beaten track. It delivered on both counts.
I arrived in the dark so no views but in the morning the view across the moor is fabulous. The picture is from my room. Great way to start the day.
As it was a business one night stay I opted for the classic room which was fine but quite cosy. The bathroom had a corner shower and toilet to fit it in. The bed was comfortable and more pillows than enough!
I had dinner in the lounge bar which was a great green Thai curry. Top notch.
The restaurant was being refurbished so breakfast was also served in the lounge bar and consisted of cereal, yoghurt and fruit. Nothing cooked or hot drinks. Not sure if this was right or something went wrong but there were no staff about to ask. Didn’t fuss me as muesli and fruit juice suited me fine, but a bit odd. More
