“Delightful place for a lengthy stay”
Reviewed 9 December 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We have just spent 2 months staying in The Wagon
House on Lordships Farm and would wholeheartedly recommend it for a short or long stay
The cottage is extremely warm and cosy and has been equipped to a very high standard in all rooms. The furniture is modern and extremely comfortable, and the kitchen has excellent appliances and crockery. Covered parking in the barn was an added bonus with clean and well lit access to individual cottages.
The cottage is in the midst of a delightful rural setting but has easy access to Hertford and Ware. As well there is a convenience store within easy walking distance.
There are lovely walks in the immediate area, and plenty of space for children to roam and play safely on the farms. Our grandchildren loved visiting.

Liked best: The cottage was always warm and cosy even on very cold days.
Liked least: The minor road into Dane End is a little narrow and pot holed

“Peaceful, spacious & immaculate barn”
Reviewed 21 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Three of us booked the Wagon House for a getaway, for some space to relax and enjoy each other's company.

The location was idyllic, with nearby Hertford & Ware and their amenities, yet far enough into the countryside to feel you'd really got away from the hustle and bustle of everyday modern life. The views from the farm itself were lovely but from inside our particular barn you could not really appreciate the full countryside view without going into the grounds.

The barn was absolutely immaculate and at the same time comfortable. It was more than spacious for the three of us and the en suite bathroom was appreciated.

Kitchen was suitably equipped with an adequate dining area. The underfloor heating throughout was most welcome in September.

Nicola who was available for any queries was welcoming, polite and friendly.

Just be aware that the only local shop closes fairly early (6 pm ish) most days and is only open half-day on Wednesday. Local pub The Boot was very welcoming and served a great pint of Guinness.

We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a quiet retreat.

“The most amazing honeymoon!”
Reviewed 3 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We chose The Wagon House for a 3 night 'family honeymoon' stay. We were not disappointed. The barns are absolutely stunning, the area is picturesque and beautiful - we could not have imagined a more perfect holiday.

The Wagon House has been refurbished to an immaculate standard with many of the original features still on show, such as exposed beams which add that authentic feel. The rooms are large and airy with high ceilings and every comfort and mod con you could imagine. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso machine and everything else you could possibly need including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, olive oil, salt and pepper, washing up liquid and cloths, tea towels, dishwasher tablets etc. Everything is clean, new and fresh. The fireplace is fantastic! The owners leave a good supply of firelighters and logs, and we spent each evening relaxing in front of a roaring fire which was pure bliss! We had our own private outdoor space with table and chairs as well as a BBQ overlooking the fields.

The beds are very large and comfortable with luxury bedding and we all slept really well! There are two bathrooms in The Wagon House, both are designed to a high standard with power showers and free Neal's Yard toilettries. Towels and flannels, bath mats etc are also provided.
Exploring the local area was lots of fun - there is a great pub called The Boot within 15 mins walking distance, as well as other great walks to enjoy and lots of exploring to do. It was lovely that the owners have left the farm 'open' for guests to explore and enjoy and we had great fun looking into the hay barn, watching the cows in the top field, viewing the growing vines in the vineyard, hiking through the woods and finding the 'secret adventure playground' (which is A MUST if you have children.)

All in all, I have to say that Lordship's Barn's has been our best UK holiday ever! It's pure bliss and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It's perfect rural luxury (I'd more here tomorrow if I could!!!) We will most certainly be returning. We've had a beautifully memorable honeymoon. Thank you to the staff and owners.
