We visited this hotel in October and although the weather was not ideal, we could trouly appreciate our stay at Casali della Cisterna, its views, its delicious cuisine and breakfast and the outside hottub.

This hotel was the last on a series of food and wine tasting stops all the way up Italy from Rome. It was by far the most comfortable room (we had a junior suite) and sitting our on the deck overlooking the lake with a bottle of wine and the pizza that owner Alberto made was just about as good as it can get after a long tourism day.

We enjoyed our 4 nights at this lovely boutique hotel.
We received a warm welcome on our arrival and were shown to our Junior Suite. It had terrific views over the lake. The room is spacious and pleasingly had tea and coffee making facilities. Our room was in the main hotel building. This backs onto a busy railway line. We kept the bathroom door closed during the night to reduce train noise (it helped). Unfortunately the room still vibrated as the trains raced past.
The breakfasts were the best we had during our Italian stay. A wide range of lovely goodies both ‘western’ and Italian style.
We enjoyed drinks on the terrace overlooking the lake on a couple of evenings. We also ate in sampling the Lasagne and Pizza. A great option after a long day sightseeing.
The gardens are spacious with interesting trees. I had a couple of relaxing strolls.
They have a private spa pool with views over the Lake. We enjoyed relaxing there one afternoon after lots of time on our feet.
Simona, Alberto and Simona’s Mum are so lovely. They gave us terrific advice on things to do and places to eat.
Our daughter joined us for the last night and was comfortably accommodated in our room and made to feel very welcome.
Everything was very comfortable, we enjoyed the hospitality and friendliness of the owners who were very helpful and gave nice tipps beyond regular service, which felt also personal and pleasant . The room had everything we needed, from tee and coffee to a huge comfy bathtub and bathroom. The hotel itself is situated perfectly with a wonderful view of the lake, 5 minutes by car from Stresa and a 20 min walk from Belgirate itself so it's very quiet.
Facilities include an outer Jacuzzi, ping pong table, a big garden and parking. Breakfast buffet was very good and products were fresh and tasty including freshly made egg dishes which you can order every morning during breakfast, which is served on the terrace outside with a view of the lake.
Wi-Fi was a bit slow. Also, the hotel is located not far from the train tracks so when a train passes it's noticeable but didn't disturb us, but in case someone is a light sleeper, it might be a problem.
The place ia amazing. We took the Snipe suite (one of the biggest suites) which was very nice. Alberto and Simona were great!!! Helped with any questions we asked. The view to lake is amazing and starting the day with it makes your day even better.
