“Relaxing and Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

We went to the Redcastle for a 2 night break. The offer included 1 spa treatment. When we arrived the was work being undertaken to the front entrance to replace the tiling with a red carpet. While noisy the was not too much disruption and was well away from the rooms. We settled in and had dinner in the Captain's Bar that night which was very good. The next day we had our included spa treatment plus 3 others we had booked. My wife had the included facial followed by a pedicure while i had a back and shoulder massage followed by a mens facial. All very relaxing and enjoyable. That evening we had dinner in the main restaurant. I have to say the meals were of top quality and good enough for a five star hotel. There was however a problem - the nightclub next to the hotel. This is a separate property and only appears to open on Friday nights / Saturday mornings and Saturday nights / Sunday morning. Our room was facing the club and the noise started around 11:30pm. We sleep a little but the noise was so loud by 2:30am that we were wide awake. Word of warning - don't book Friday of Saturday nights, you'll get no sleep.

Room Tip: Seaview away from nightclub

Dear Guest
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am delighted to read that your stay and in particular the food and Spa treatments were so enjoyable. I apologise for the disruption on arrival to the Hotel, it is not our usual welcome I assure you! We have recently upgraded areas within the Hotel and have tried to do so with minimum disruption to our guests. I was also sorry to hear that your stay was disturbed by noise from the nightclub. I do hope that you will return to the Hotel soon again

My family and I stayed here over the mid-term break and had a lovely time. The breakfast was lovely and the staff extremely helpful. We ate in the bar the first night which was nice but it was very busy and understaffed. The meal in the restaurant on the second night made up for it though - excellent food, service and atmosphere.
My husband and son had a great time on the golf course in spite of the weather and the pool was great for the kids too. My only complaint would be that the pool area could do with some loungers to relax on and I was really disappointed that there was no sauna or steam room.
I had a treatment in the spa which was lovely and reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade. We did and got one at not extra cost!

Dear Guest
Thank you for your feedback. I am delighted that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us. I have noted your points about the bar service, we are very fortunate that the bar and restaurant are busy areas within the hotel, we always ensure that all areas are staffed fully to ensure top service. If your experience was less than positive I apologise and I will bring it to the direct attention of our food and beverage manager. I note also your comments about the pool area and I will pass on to the management for review. I hope you will return soon again and thank you once again for taking the time to offer your feedback

Just back from a two night stay in the Redcastle Hotel to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and we throughly enjoyed it.A spacious room overlooking the golf course, very clean and well appointed and with an extremely comfortable bed.Great choices at the buffet breakfast and views to die for from the breakfast room! Fabulous pool with loads of jacuzzi features to control as you wish.Great well equipped gym...though we didn't use it as we decided to pamper ourselves with a couple of treatments instead and that was gorgeous. Our dinner both nights was excellent and although we only managed to grab 5 holes of golf due to bad weather we loved the course and once again the beautiful scenic views around us. The abiding memory of our stay though has got to be the friendliness of the staff....every staff member we met (even just passing on the stairs!)was smiling, courteous and friendly..we will definitely be recommending the Redcastle and we will definitely be returning there .

Room Tip: We stayed in 407 on the first floor overlooking the car park and golf course...very peaceful.

Stayed in the Redcastle Hotel NYE, hotel was very busy due to an NYE ball but although the staff were very busy they were most helpful and attentive to us!

We had a great dinner and the breakfast was soo good, the restaurant had the most amazing views.

Tip: have a swim in the pool first thing in the morning, we did and the sun coming up through the windows was absolutely amazing, great way to start 1-1-2012!!

Genuine friendly staff at reception, also in the restaurant and the bar. Bedroom had the largest double bed i have ever slept in, and comfy too. The lounge area is modern and i have come home with a few new decorating ideas !!! the only negative is the highly polished wooden floor in the bar area, i was a wee bit nervous walking in my moderate heels and was amazed that other more adventurous guests were able to stay up, will definitely be back.

Room Tip: select a sea view room, no 206 was great.
