Owner description: Maa Bamleshwari Temple, Dongargarh, Bambleshwari Temple in Dongargarh is situated at the top of a 1600 feet high hill and is devoted to the Hindu goddess Maa Bambleshwari Devi. The temple has 2 separate segments; Badi Bambleshwari is the temple at the hilltop, where as Chhotti Bambleshwari is located a bit further away from the vicinity of the main temple. Bambleshwari Temple is steeped in ancient legends. It is widely believed that the actually temple was built during the reign of emperor Vikaramaditya, which dates back to 600 years ago. Conversely it is also believed that Raja Veersen, ruler of Dongargarh, in order to appease the Gods for his true successor, had built the temple 2200 years ago.

We visited this place on 14th Mar2017 with Family. Worth visit this place during Winters.

This temple is well connected by Road, Rail and Air. The nearest Airport is Raipur. Its about 110km from Raipur by Road. Dongargarh has Railway station. Its about 25km from the highway.

There are 2 temples, one on hill called Badi Bambleshwari and the other one is away by 1km is called Choti Bambleshwari.

There are about 1100 steps and you can climb or take a cable car. The cost is Rs.50 for to & fro and Rs.30 for one side. But, on festive season, the rate will be more. But, sometimes, the cable car shut for maintenance.

There is a small pond which has boating where you can spent some more time.

Jai Mata di.

It is near about 80km from Bhilai. You can go by road or train. From Dongargarh Rail Station you can see temple which takes 5 mins in auto(5-10rs per person) from station. Ropeway is their or you can use more than 1000 stairs to reach main temple. Go as early as possible. Ropeway starts near about 8:00am. Place is peaceful and well maintained. Very beautiful view of the city from the temple.

Feel blessed here!! Temple is approx 1.5- 2 hours away from durg, surrounded by beautiful valley views. Rope way is also there so going uphill is not a problem. Temple is very popular among locals so must avoid the weekends & vacation period to avoid rush.
