We had very mixed feelings about this hotel. The room we were allocated for a week was rather small for the price we paid, it had a beautiful view across the bay but this was from a tiny high terrace with raised ‘wall’ in front. The room was well maintained and very clean.
The public areas were all fine, plenty of sun beds available at the pool and the private beach.
Our main problems were about the restaurants. Breakfast was fine, everything we wished for was available. However for dinner, of the three restaurants only the Playa was consistently available and this had a very limited and expensive menu. The Terrace and Dogi had better menus but on two occasions these were unavailable as weddings were being held and on several evenings the Terrace was closed due to the ‘weather’ not sure why when the Playa was open and this seemed to have the same weather conditions. We felt that as paying guests at least the hotels main restaurant should have been available OR the menu from that restaurant should have been available at the Playa.
There were several restaurants in the town, some of which we tried, however these did not suit our dietary requirements.
The staff throughout the hotel were very pleasant, helpful and polite.
All in all we felt the hotel was expensive, in a beautiful location, with very helpful staff

For the location alone this is almost unbeatable. The views from the restaurants and pool are just stunning.
The food is mixed it's fair to say. The breakfast was pretty good and is served in a room with a wonderful view of Camogli and the sea. There's a selection of pastries and savoury. Overall reasonable.
We had lunch in La Playa Restaurant. To my shame I ordered the burger rather than being adventurous. The burger was served in a sesame bun and a slice of plastic cheese. If most pubs in England can serve decent gourmet burgers, I'm surprised this hotel can't manage. My wife ordered the moules mariniere and it was excellent.
One evening we ordered a deep fried sea food platter and a beef dish. The platter was served with just lemon but no other sauces and it looked a bit stark. Some of the fish was very bony and not that pleasant. The beef dish was served with a wine reduction and creamed potato and was very nice.
The room we had was simple but pleasant with a nice balcony overlooking the pool and sea. It needed a bit of love though. The bathroom door handle came off in my hand and every evening the bathroom smelt a bit of drains which wasn't pleasant. We did raise this with the staff but despite their efforts the smell returned.
The staff were always pleasant in our experience.
Overall the location makes for a wonderful stay. I just feel the food needs improving and the interior needs a small amount of TLC.
Camogli is a beautiful village with plenty of restaurants to choose from so that might be worth considering rather than eating in.

Whilst the location and views are splendid, this hotel does not live up to its reputation. The whole facility is showing its age, and is in need of refurbishment. The furnishings are tired in places, the plumbing in need of overhaul (unstable water temperature in shower) and there is only a single, slow lift. Whilst some staff were helpful, others were offhand and arrogant. The main dining room had variable quality food at dinner, and was packed to overflowing for breakfast. I will not rush back.

With beautiful grounds, grand meals, an attentive staff and comfortable rooms with air conditioning, this hotel merits high praise. And the free wi fi is excellent.

Just 45 minutes from the Genoa airport, the town of Camogli is small, non commercial and a pleasure to see.

We rate this hotel very highly.

Wow! What an absolute treat to discover this hotel located in my favorite Italian city so far, Camogli; I would give this four star rated hotel five stars if I could. From its seaside location perched into the cliffs, to the views, drinks , food and amazing breakfast (with the best pastries I have ever eaten) this place is a jewel. We stayed here and hiked to Portofino (6 hours), took the ferry and train back, the only negative is not staying here like longer! (This is the view from our room)
