Our guide gave us a concise and enjoyable insight into the production of the different styles of sherry ... After an illuminating tour, we got to the VERY interesting bit ... We booked the post tour tapas (which was a bit basic, but adequate) and tasting ... We sampled a total of eight sherries and two brandies ... Three of the sherries were aged, giving us the opportunity to compare them directly to the latest vintage ... There are different tour options ... We went for the top one ... This gave us the tapas and an extensive tasting ... The other options offered fewer sherries to taste and if you preferred you could leave out the tapas ... We all really enjoyed visit ... If you are holidaying In the area, this is recommended visit ... We were staying in Cadiz and got a taxi from our hotel to Sandeman ... This is about an half an hour journey but well worth the effort ... So don't be put off by the journey ...

Photogenic place to tour around. Whilst our guide was not as easy to understand as I would have liked, we still got the gist of the finer points of the different grapes, methods of blending and differing finished sherry types.
Apart from the first 'dry' tasting the next two were very palatable. The olives and crisps went a bit quick, so a little more 'Tapas' would have been useful to go with the generous samples of alcohol!
We timed our visit to follow on from a tour of the Real Equestrian School of Art which is next door.

Good informative tour (lots of information). Guides very attentive, knowledgable & interested in their topic. Good taster "sample" sizes & reasonably priced tour. Do not give tours to less than "2" people (so a single person may have to tag onto another group (not an issue for me).

Alicia presented a clear discussion of winemaking and types of grapes. She was most convivial. This was a wonderful experience especially for sherry drinkers.

This was a fascinating experience and better executed than I was expecting. Alicia, our guide was very fluent in English and keen for us to ask questions. Her knowledge was extensive and it was all very informative. It cost E8 for an adult and E3.50 for an under 18 who got grape juice at the end rather than any sherry to drink. We just turned up for an English tour 20 mins early for an English tour ( din't book in advance). Following the tour we were given generous tastings of fino, medium and sweet sherry with a bowl of olives and crisps which was a very nice touch. I would definitely recommend and enjoyed it so much it would encourage me to visit another bodega on another trip to extend my knowledge. The climate, soil and non-interference with the whole process id amazing and unusual in this day and age.
