Does what it says it does. Good accommodation. Decent breakfast. Efficient staff. Comfortable bed, good shower. Just right for a short stay in route. Not far from ferry and avoids Caen in the morning for a journey South. Stayed there 30 times or more so there cannot be much wrong.

We stay here often.

Having a home in deep South West France, we use the hotel as a stop over following a long day's drive, ideally positioned for the 30 minute drive in to Ouistreham to catch the morning Brittany ferries crossing to Portsmouth.

Or, having taken the afternoon ferry from Portsmouth, it's a brilliant night stop leaving us an early start for the drive back to Tarn et Garonne.

The welcome is always cheerful, the room clean and comfortable and the bar and restaurant relaxed and the service level good.

It fits our need perfectly, which is why we keep going back

Room tip: Probably not the ground floor

One night stop on way back to Caen ferry. The ville is the home of William the Conquerer and has an imposing chateau/castle that was built to defend the town and not look pretty. The ville itself is interesting with two old eglises and is a 1km from the hotel. A few bistros for lunch or dinner. There is a large park with great tracks for walking or jogging. The hotel is very good and situated in a quiet area close to a supermarket. There is plenty of parking at the hotel. The rooms are good standard Ibis: clean and modern.

We had a room on the 2nd floor overlooking Falaise, very comfortable for such good value. The staff were helpful and friendly. There are all sorts of bar entertainment, ideal for winter or wet days. The menu is not extensive but every meal we had was excellent; the burger is special! This is a good place for basing yourself as individuals or groups.

Room tip: 2nd floor with view of Falaise
