We stayed there for a night. It was like we traveled to XIX century by time machine. Very kindly housekeepers . Good breakfast.
Good for romantic traveling, for hiking and walks to forest.
Don't forget ask to housekeepers a bottle of wine!

Would you like to move on to the XIX century and feel like a guest at the manor house? This feeling appears when you stay at the hotel Lauritsalan Kartano. The house was built in 1840s' and now it is a private ownership. Owners, couple about 60 years old were very glad becouse we were the only visitors in the last several days. My first thought was that I stay in the museum or Turgenev or Tyutchev or other great Russian writer of Nicolay's I epoque. Before we came to our room we viewed living hall, the dining room, owner's office, with a small library filled with volumes of the XIX century. The desk needed a pair of candelabra with candles. In our wonderful bedroom I did not feel comfortable to be honest. Unusually high ceilings, antique metal beds, antique furniture strained, as if I crossed the fence and sat on the genuine artifact belonged to the great writer.
The basement house, converted into a wine bar and sauna, was designed in absolutely modern style. There are several water recreations as it should be in the VIP hotel. Sauna, Turkish sauna (although at the time of our presence was not working ), infrared sauna, and of course the pool. On request, guests can coose any music from a huge collection of the owner. We did not get the pool - water was too cold. The sauna tax separately for each hour.
The manor located in very quiet place. We walked along the paths of the park on bikes, the building is 100 meters from the Saimaa Canal. Amazing beautiful surrounding.
In the morning we had the finest breakfast prepared by hostess.
Unless you afraid to change your vocations dramatically Lauritsalan Kartano is ideal for you.

The price is too high for the room with shared bathroom and without breakfast. It was very hot at the end of June and room has no A/C so I needed to open the window in let the air inside. But with the air came mosquitoes and the night was not very comfortable.
Anyway the old house is very nice and spacious, the room itself is large and cozy, the owners are very friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. Wifi was OK, the breakfast was also OK (though cost additional 15e)
