Found this place on line while looking for things to do in the Ardeche. What a disappointment. The gorge is beautiful and such a stunning backdrop, but considering you've paid to get in, there's no shade available and we couldn't hire any chairs.
The pools were filthy and they have a bizarre rule that they don't allow boys to wear swimming shorts for hygiene reasons so the kids with such shorts are refused entry into the pool. They are not allowed to wear SPF tops either! However, you can by swimming trunks from the shop there for 10 Euros!!!!!
Not worth the visit when there are plenty of areas you can swim and play in the gorge for free!

How can there be such a difference between all the good stuff people say about us and your comment ? Please stay at least objective. There's plenty of shade on the second beach which you obviously haven't found. We also lend beach umbrellas for free...You should also know we're nearly the only place with natural sand for more then 500 m.
Our swimming pools are tested every week and we have clear water and hygienic conditions. people wearing bermuda shorts have to stay in the river. this is the policy of public pools. Obviously your not our type of customer...stay in the gorges on a rock.

We've been to this little wonderland for a wedding party and left with a big WOOOW and one word in our mind: MAGNIFIQUE!
Nina and her family are sooo lovely and they did really everything to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible!
Mission accomblished - we, all other guests and, most important, bride and groom were obviously amused and had a great day!

Merci beaucoup et à bientôt!

For when the weather is hot and you don't only want to swim in the river, visit Isla Cool Douce. Besides the river, you can also jump in to several swimming pools (not super huge, but good enough to swim a bit)
The costs are 4 euros per person (babies for free) and parking is 5 euros for the whole day. The great thing is that they have set a small part that is just available for (children) swimming, although still it's quickly very deep water. You can rent canoes and water bikes, and most of them even have slides for children on them. I think it was about 8 euros to rent one.
There is a snack bar and toilets when needed. The beach is nice, but very hot, so bring shoes (preferably water shoes that you can keep on in the water). It is possible to swim, lounge on your airbed, across the river and jump from high cliffs. Didn't measure them but I think they range from about 2 m to 10 m high. Wonderful sight to see people jump!
Very alert manager present as well, one of the girls fell and hurt her head, because my friend's french wasn't too good - immediately the Belgian owner showed up. All was well with the kid by the way!

Paying private beach but well worth the visit, having most needs for a several hour stay- toilets, snack bar[serving hot food], sandy beach, shade[if you're not too late], rental of pedalos and canoes. Good for swimmers but non-swimmers need care as the beach slopes quickly in parts. Children will love it.
