For when the weather is hot and you don't only want to swim in the river, visit Isla Cool Douce. Besides the river, you can also jump in to several swimming pools (not super huge, but good enough to swim a bit)
The costs are 4 euros per person (babies for free) and parking is 5 euros for the whole day. The great thing is that they have set a small part that is just available for (children) swimming, although still it's quickly very deep water. You can rent canoes and water bikes, and most of them even have slides for children on them. I think it was about 8 euros to rent one.
There is a snack bar and toilets when needed. The beach is nice, but very hot, so bring shoes (preferably water shoes that you can keep on in the water). It is possible to swim, lounge on your airbed, across the river and jump from high cliffs. Didn't measure them but I think they range from about 2 m to 10 m high. Wonderful sight to see people jump!
Very alert manager present as well, one of the girls fell and hurt her head, because my friend's french wasn't too good - immediately the Belgian owner showed up. All was well with the kid by the way!

Paying private beach but well worth the visit, having most needs for a several hour stay- toilets, snack bar[serving hot food], sandy beach, shade[if you're not too late], rental of pedalos and canoes. Good for swimmers but non-swimmers need care as the beach slopes quickly in parts. Children will love it.

A good part of the river for swimming and diving. Tables for picnic. Didn't use the "swimming" pools as colder than the river. Limited shade on the beach.

3E pp plus 3E car parking. Large sandy river beach with grassy and shaded areas too.Hammocks, picnic tables reasonably priced snack bar and bar. Canoes and pedalos to hire. There are clean toilets and 3 small swimming pools with a lifeguard on duty at both the pool and beach. Kids and adults were jumping from the cliffs into the river - would never be allowed in England, (health & safety). No complaints of boredom from the teens. Bring a picnic and your lilo. Went twice we enjoyed it so much.Even though it was August, not uncomfortably busy.
