We stayed at this hotel for just two nights but would have stayed longer if we had the time. The room was well equipped and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. It was self service but that suited us fine as we like to see exactly what we are choosing. An overall pleasant experience.

Food was amazing, sunday lunch was great. The gravy and Yorkshire puddings were the best. Definitely will go back. The young lad that worked there was a credit so polite and helpful..no complaints..

Attended all day, served canapes of steak pie and peas n chips which were very nice.

Sit down came out hot and was also very nice.

Dessert was a mix of 5 small cakes which were served with a choc sauce.

Venue was very clean, bar prices not too bad for a hotel.

The welcome at reception was warm and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. The heating worked well but the downside was the food. The breakfast was only average but the dinner that evening was very poor. The soup was very nondescript and when the vegetable stroganoff arrived it looked like a bowl of soup. This was taken back to the kitchen and sorted, but I wonder what sort of control they operate to allow a plate to leave the kitchen looking like that?
The following evening I had the fish that was so dry as to be almost uneatable and at best the cheesecake would be described as average.
Last year the food was much better, just what can we expect if we go there next year?

I had to ask for heating to be put on during the day as apparently it is on timer, my husband and I were freezing sat in the room, the aerial for TV was blown off on Sunday and we left on Wednesday it was still not fixed, the weather had subsided but still not repaired. On one occasion i went to reception to ask to borrow a pen, there were 2 ladies sat behind reception, so i went to nearest one, she totally ignored me when i asked and the one at the other end of reception was extremely nice and came over, but i was not happy at being ignored by this person, surely customer service is paramount to repeat business. We have stay here many times and yes we would probably stay here again but only due to it's location.
