We have read the previous reviews and see where the good and not so good reviews are coming from. It depends on the kind of person you are. We are not moaners or complainers. Our experience of this hotel was positive. This is a 3* hotel not a 5* hotel so we knew what we were booking. ALL the front of house staff, housekeeping, kitchen and maintenance staff are great, nothing was too much trouble for Allan and his staff. For example we could not figure out the air con and Allan sorted this out for us. I'm not to good in the heat so requested a fan (as well and the a/c) and it was in our room immediately. The hotel is in a great location, very central opposite the outside pool and sea. There is no bar but not problem as there are very good bars next door. Breakfast was fine too - the usual.....sausages, beans, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cheeses, ham, hot and cold drinks, no complaints from us. Rooms are clean, we slept well in our 2 single beds pushed together with our 2 year old in the middle of us. We could not hear people in the rooms next to us. There is no pool but a very big deep pool opposite but no baby pool. The beach is not child/senior citizen friendly, very, very small. The only negatives for us is that the lift took ages to arrive and was really hot. Thank you St Julian's Bay Hotel, was a lovely holiday in a lovely country with very friendly people.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are great but noisy as on a main road, fine for us but not for people that want a qui...

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Never in my life have i experienced a hotel as horrendous and disgusting as this hotel. We received a room with NO aircon, NO tv and the sinks did not drain. There are NO springs in the mattress and are placed on wooden box frames. The staff are extremely rude especially the manager Allan. We ended up moving to another hotel immediately as the thought i staying in the room made my skin crawl. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, honestly pay a little extra and stay somewhere half decent, this place is not value for money.
My recommendation would be to request to review the room before the take your payment, which they asked us to do. If i would have seen the room before paying i would have refused to pay.
I was booked in for a 5 day stay, we ended up moving over to the Cavelieri hotel after 1 night as the management team told us they were completely booked and that there was nothing they could do about the incorrect and sub-par rooms that we were offered,

Room Tip: Ensure that you view before you pay, i requested an economy room with 1 double bed and received a ro...

Perfect location of the hotel. Rooms are very spacious and clean. A lot of bars and restaurants nearby. Definitely would recommend it. Bus stops near the hotel. You can go on foot to Sliema along the coastline.

I booked the hotel in April because it looked nice on the pictures it was in an area of Malta we wanted to stay in and it had a 24 hour reception which was important because our flights were arriving after midnight. On arrival a nice chap checked us in and then said that the room wasn't what we had booked becauase it was triple not double but we could change rooms in the morning because they were fully booked. We said it was fine we would see how we get on because we just wanted to get to bed (1am). He then said we needed to pay now to which we said no we'd sort it in the morning since the room wasn't right anyway but apparently this wasn't an option. We checked in to a room with 3 single beds which sounded like they were on their last legs! We pushed 2 together to make a double but it was a quick fix didn't really work and by the morning they had pretty much separated anyway. The next morning we spoke to a very uptight receptionist who seemed to know nothing about the issue and said quite bluntly that as we can see she had no other rooms available (since we didn't have access to her bookings system I don't know how we could see this!). If we had booked the room even a month before I could appreciate that they may not have a double available but since we booked 5 months prior to the stay its not really acceptable. Anyway a manager was called who called housekeeping and asked them to ziplock the beds to a double. We mentioned that the TV had a very poor signal so was unwatchable although not a big deal because we weren't there to watch it. so off we went to enjoy the day. When we came back that night the bed had a double sheet put over both mattresses but it wasnt zipped together so was no different than the night before. The TV was no different. When we checked out the next morning the same manager was on duty and asked us how our stay was, obviously he already knew the answer but clearly had no actual management authority to do anything about it. The review gets 2 stars because the room was clean but really that's the only plus and to be honest expected. The TV didn't work the room was not what we booked and the hotel staff were unable to fix our issues. Answer- if you don't have the room available don't sell it or make it right don't tell us at 1am it isn't what we booked and then demand full payment.

Very comfortable, clean and cool. Our price was very reasonable and included a really good breakfast. Small problem with noise at night and other guests coming and going but I can sleep through most things! We would definately stay again!!

Room Tip: Not sure sorry, we've only stayed once and our view was of the back street.
