Swallow Barn is small but has everything needed for a comfortable, quiet stay in the Peak District. In the middle of Chelmorton village, it has many superb walks starting just outside the door.
A lounge/dining kitchen is fully fitted out with oven, hob, microwave, and all the other bits and pieces necessary to cook a meal or just make breakfast. A cúrtained off bedroom with a very comfortable bed also has a small shower room in the corner.
We had 2 dogs with us but were made very welcome. Laminate flooring is easy to keep clean and with a walled patio area outside they could be allowed out without worrying about them wandering off.
This is an ideal base for a walking holiday or just to relax for a few days. There is a pub just up the road which serves excellent meals if you don't feel like cooking and the Brierlow Bar Bookstore , which is a short drive away, serves small breakfasts and wonderful home-made cakes with superb tea or coffee.
We really enjoyed our stay, thanks to Gill, Dave and Charlie the dog.

We really enjoyed our stay at Swallow Barn .The barn had everything we needed lovely kitchen and lounge and a large comfy bed - which we made great use of after we enjoyed walking in the surrounding country side .
It really was a delight staying there and the owners were really helpful. I would definitely recommend to other people

The barn was very well equipped and clean making maximum use of the small space.
The village is very friendly with an excellent local pub within easy walking distance providing great food and a weekly quiz on a Monday night.
Delightful walks in all directions directly from the barn with many pretty villages to explore.
Both Buxton and Bakewell are a short drive away with all the amenities available.
