To be greeted with ‘what do you want’ isn’t a good start. Lack of training and paranoia isn’t making it a relaxing experience. More should be done to inform guests what the policy is if it’s Beyond Scottish govt guidelines are before you arrive.

Had a lovely 1 night stay. Doing a good job managing covid procedures - everything felt safe. Dinner and drinks very good. The breakfast was delicious, excellent scrambled eggs. Very good service all round. Bit gutted spa was still shut however we made the most of walking around the area which was very pretty. Thanks team at Portavadie you are doing a grand job.

We chose Portavadie for a family birthday celebration. We could not have picked a better location. All the accommodation was fabulous, we stayed in the cottages and the townhouse apartment. The cottages are cosy and comfortable and dog friendly! The townhouse apartment is really well appointed and has a large balcony with lovely views overlooking the marina and and has a great social space, for get togethers(at a safe distance!).

The service at breakfast and at dinner was excellent. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the restaurant was well spaced out and well set up for social distancing and Covid safety. The dinner on Saturday night was delicious. The menu has a lovely selection of locally sourced dishes. I can highly reccomend the Isle of Gigha Hallibut. We enjoyed a trip into Tinabruaich for ice cream and coffees, and enjoyed lovely dog walks and a swim on the loch. Looking forward to the next birthday celebrations at Portavadie!

My dad was delighted with the whole weekend and it was one to remember for sure.

This is a nice marina with smart facilities and good local walks. The drying room for wet weather gear is very useful.

However our showers this morning were very chilly and a comment to the desk elicited an unsympathetic response.

For what you pay you’d expect at least hot water for you shower.

Also WiFi isn’t great sadly.

Having stayed at 3 other hotels pruor to this one the covid19 breakfast process wasnt great.
I ordered scrambled eggs as part of my breakfast and sent them back. They were the worst scrambled eggs I've ever experienced, how can a chef get something simple so wrong. I complained when I sent them back but no feedback oe apology.
It's not a cheap place to stay and I'm surprised that this was an acceptable standard.
