We stayed 11 nights at Mountain Trout Camp. Very clean, well maintained campground. The owners were friendly. The dock and the star gazing at night was simply amazing. We even saw the northern lights a couple of times. I would definitely recommend staying here. We had a terrific time.

Room Tip: Site F2 was a bit small but cozy.

Thanks Kamie for the review and the mention of the Northern Lights. That's definitely something we don't have too much control of but we're glad you were able to experience them.

We normally don't camp at private parks due to lack of privacy however due to Bruce National Parks lack of hookups we decided to give MTC a try. The park was great and had full hookups (electric water and sewer). The over night sites at MTC are better than most provincial/national parks in terms of privacy. The over night sites are separate from the seasonal sites. The campground has a well stocked store available should you forget something. We didn't use the inflatables in the lake but they looked like a lot of fun. Cell phones don't work here but the park has wifi available for a fee. The wifi is a bit slow but ok for checking email.

The park is within a couple of kilometers of the bruce trail. Also nearby is Bruce National Park, Tobermory and Lionshead.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review. As an update on the cell phones. A Rogers Tower is expected to be installed in our area sometime in November of 2015. As for the WiFi, we're also in the process of updating this. Thanks again for letting us know.

We were 8 friends (two couples & a couple with two kids) in the Deacon's Domain cabin. We had an amazing time. There is a chemical washroom right across the cabin, and full washrooms (with shower), just 1 minute walk away. The interior of the cabin is great, with two bedrooms and a loft (which was fun for the kids). There is a convenient picnic table, fire pit and BBQ. The pretty Gillies lake, where the water inflatables are were fun not only for the kids, but to the adults as well. Reading by the lake early mornings was a blessing and watching the sunset priceless. Nothing fancy, but just what we needed as a friend's gateway!

Thank you for sharing your highlights regarding your stay this summer. We've definitely enjoyed watching the water inflatables be used by both adults and kids. As well, thank you for pointing the quietness of the dock in the morning. It's a favourite place for so many.

We rented Deacan's Domain. It was a very clean and newly renovated cabin. Very cozy and spacious - we did not want to leave! This camp is pet friendly too which is awesome! They pump the outhouses daily as well so it's never too unpleasant to use them! We will definitely return!

Thank you for taking the time to share about our washrooms/portable toilets. We work hard at keeping them clean. To clarify for anyone reading this, we have 'full service' washrooms with both toilets and showers as well as portable units throughout the campground for your convenience.

Ron and Kathy, the owners, are really the best! They were so great with my kids. The washrooms are clean, the lake has a fun floating island, it's close to many of the local attraction, etc...only good things to say. We loved our stay!

Thanks Rachel for your review. Sorry for the slow response as we had some login issues to work out. We hope that you'll again have the opportunity to return to the area in 2016.
