“Great little seaside cottage”

We had a wonderful stay at this charming and rustic cottage. Can't say enough about its proximity to Bayfield beach, with warm waters and a sandbar perfect for wading and swimming with little ones. The screened porch is great for family suppers with breeze and ocean view. The bedrooms were tight but beds comfy with nice linens, kitchen the same, tight but thoughtfully stocked. Great value for the price.

“Memorable stay at beautiful Island View”

My husband and I (and Abby - the dog) stayed at Island View Cottage for most of the week of July 16-22. It was a great oceanside experience on beautiful St. George's Bay. Beautiful view for sunrises and sunsets from the front deck, living room window, front lawn or screened in porch. We loved the screened in porch especially on the one really rainy day we had -- sounded and felt great. We did eat most of our meals in the porch that has a full sized picnic table and two lounge areas for seating or siestas. You are just steps down to the beach as well. Abby the Labrador Retriever went swimming every day. The water was very warm compared to the Atlantic coast for swimming.
The cottage is very well laid out and very comfortably furnished - very cozy. The kitchen, though small is extremely well equipped with everything you will need for your stay - pots, pans, spices, herbs, etc. Bathroom is small, but it has a great shower and certainly was adequate for the two of us. There was lots of good quality reading material on hand which was much appreciated.
Our hosts were very much appreciated and accommodating. Our many thanks to Bruce, Nancy and Jennifer. All in all a wonderful stay. Hope to be back soon for another stay.

“By the Water”
Reviewed 24 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This cottage was ideal for the three of us. We enjoyed swimming first thing each morning and relaxing on the the deck in the sunshine, listening to the waves a few feet away .
The cottage us very basic, beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equiped. The bathroom was tiny and needs work. They cottage was advertised to sleep 6 but with only the one bathroom I don't think it would be very comfortable. The hosts were very helpful and the location is ideal.

“A classic cottage in a gorgeous spot - loved it!”
Reviewed 16 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Five of us stayed in June 2015. This is a classic cottage with a wood stove, wood paneling, and simple but comfortable furnishings. There was patio furniture in the outdoor patio and two beds in the screened patio to enjoy the gorgeous view & sea breeze, especially in good weather. The nearby area has lots of birds (including bald eagles!) and there is a lovely beach right outside the cottage door. The kitchen was a bit tight with five of us, but it was well equipped and had numerous spices/herbs/seasonings and baking ingredients. All the other cabins we stayed in on our trip did not have anything aside from salt and pepper, so this was a treat! There is a wood fire stove located in the living area. Our hosts kindly had a fire going when we arrived, which was very welcoming. That made the cabin very cozy and so relaxing. The beds were made up but the master bedroom was also well stocked with extra blankets and sleeping bags to go around. There was an extra cot in one of the rooms which we brought out so one of us could sleep by the fire - such a treat. Firewood is stocked in the screened patio so the wood is always dry and you don’t even have to actually go outside to get it! Many board games are available to play - which is great because there is no wi-fi. The shower is great; it instantly responds to adjustments and stays consistent temperature. Our host was friendly and informative about the nearby area. Our stay was cold and rainy. It would have been an even more wonderful stay if the weather had cooperated!
