I went here for lunch with 9 of my friends. The manager and staff were extra welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing. A last minute choice that turned out better than expected, will definitely be going again.

We stayed here for one night after my other half had run the Cumbrian Way ultra marathon. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, giving me a front door key so I could get in and out of the hotel to collect him from the finish at 2.30am!!

The room was large and spacious with a large en-suite bathroom, both of which were spotlessly clean. The decor was a little dated but that didn’t matter at all. There was a tv in the room and tea and coffee making facilities.

There is onsite parking but this is closed at night, otherwise there is free on street parking on the street next to the hotel. The hotel is dog friendly and our dog was made very welcome.

Breakfast was included in the price and was tasty and served quickly. Overall we would recommend this hotel.

Lovely appearance from the outside.....entrance doors are very poor and give a very poor impression. Reception area equally uninviting.
Staff friendly enough and helpful.
Room was very large and had two armchairs - usually only one - bed was large and had a very good matress. ensuite bathroom was a disappointment....very old and tired....had to ask for toilet rolls!!
Evening meal was homely food...nothing special - breakfast was fine too....cereals and juices not the best.
As I said just ok for one night en route to the ferry.

We were visiting friends in Longtown and wanted somewhere close by. The Hotel is right on the crossroads of the main street and near to local shops, cafe's and a Spar supermarket. The staff are friendly and helpful and eager to please. We had pre booked a meal in the dining room that evening and were meeting friends in the bar. Atmosphere a good mix of locals and visitors, loads of choices for drinks and we had a bar tab for the room, which negated the need to go to the cash point. Rooms are clean and comfortable, ours had a four poster bed, all the amenities TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee making. The meal at night was tasty and a good choice of dishes and a specials board. Two of us had rump steaks, one a chicken curry with rice and i had the gammon all at reasonable prices just over fifty pounds. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices for any tastes. Please note the hotel is warm and comfortable and clean. Our only observations, decorations need a spruce up, bit otherwise, we will be visiting again. Only about 5 miles from Gretna Green !!
