We were delighted with our stay at Doolin Sunset House. The family room was perfect for us and the location was great for our area sightseeing. Carmel could not do enough for us and breakfast was fantastic. Martin was a wonderful host as well and let our kids hold some of their animals which was a highlight for them. We could not have started our trip off in a better way.

booked via booking.com which should be done for false advertising! i booked a seaview room with evening meal, neither of which was actually available. very out of the way location so if you want to be in central Doolin this is not the place for you. house full of tat and feels cramped a bit dirty. to be fair the en suite appeared very clean but the whole house just had a dirty feel about it with a strange smell. greeted by the host in his work clothes, fair enough he might have been busy but he had the same clothes on the next day to serve our breakfast in. omelette for breakfast was ok but over-microwaved scrambled eggs left a lot be desired - disgusting, dont know how he had the cheek to serve it. wouldn't return to Doolin Sunset if my life depended upon it. other reviewers have mentioned martins "irish charm", sorry but they're confusing charm with verbal diarrhoea - very annoying.

For those who are looking for a real local experience, the Doolin sunset B&B is fantastic. The location was beautiful (though you need your own transport to get there, otherwise you'll end up calling the owners if they can please pick you up like we did) and the accommodation more than decent, but it was the owners who made the experience unforgettable. They were very welcoming, offered us tea and biscuits etcetera all day and drove us everywhere we wanted as we didn't have our own transport. Nothing was too much for them. It was a marvellous experience.
