My wife and I have traveled in Ireland seven times over the past years. We have stayed in accommodations all over the island and are usually very happy with the places where we have stayed. We have read and written reviews that extol the virtues of the host/hostess of the accommodation. However, one set of innkeepers has stood above the rest for us. Frank and Marian Sheedy of the Roadford House are graceful, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. We visited their restaurant for the first time in 2007 and felt it was among the best in Ireland. When we returned to Doolin in 2008, we stayed at their B&B collocated with the restaurant and enjoyed our stay very much. When we finally returned in 2018, we had the same great stay and delicious breakfasts. We were happy to see that the resident dog, Beans, was still in fine fettle. Helped us avoid missing our dogs as much.
Sadly, the Sheedys have closed their restaurant because they are in the process of building a new accomodation, which will open at Christmas. The new one will be called Sheedy's Doolin - boutique style accomodation. We are looking forward to visiting it.
By the way, Doolin is worthy of several days stay. There are four musical pubs in this small town that play live Irish music every night. Ferries leave from Doolin to visit the Aran Islands frequently. Doolin is the nearest town to the Cliffs of Moher, which can be viewed from the land or from one of the ferries. The desolate, but hauntingly beautiful Burren is also nearby.
Again, book a stay and look forward to the warm greeting from Marian.

Loved our stay at Roadford House! Marian was the perfect host - 5 Star service all the way and great recommendations for the Cliffs and meals.

The room was perfectly cozy and clean and the bed was comfy. We really enjoyed the breakfast too, very well served in a lovely room tastefully decorated with colorful paintings by a local artist.

P/S Beans, the resident Irish Setter was so friendly and welcoming :)

My wife and I stayed at this establishment for one night when going to see the Cliffs of Moher. We should have stayed longer! The rooms are very comfortable. The owners went out of their way to help us with our trip (we even left with an adaptor as a present when we asked for one to charge our phones).

Probably the best part was the food, which was exceptional. Both the gourmet dinner (with a number of specials consisting of fresh fish from the area) and breakfast (with dishes from local ingredients).

This place is worthy of a detour or special trip. We made it just in time before they closed up for winter (November for four months).

Where do I start! This is pure Irish hospitality. Marian and Frank go out of their way to make you feel at home. Dinner was absolutely amazing I was totally shocked at the standard and quality. Our room was very comfortable and clean, I loved waking up and seeing cows outside my window. Thank you again for a very memorable stay in Doolin.
