A return visit with a difference

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 28 Nov 2021
We have just returned from a wonderful revisit with a difference. We have here twice before when it was a restaurant and guest house under Brid and John's management and really enjoyed both. The rooms were more basic then but comfortable, but the restaurant and it's views were the star of the show.
Now it falls under the Hotel Doolin, just across the road. The rooms are very good hotel quality, but breakfast is across the road, within Hotel Doolin-in Fitz's Bar. Breakfast was delicious in a spacious welcoming restaurant. We also had a really lovely evening meal in Fitz's bar.
The Hotel also knew from the records that we had stayed previously and left a lovely "welcome back" card and local chocolate. On checking out we received Irish brown bread. We shall be back again.

We stayed in Doolin so we could take the ferry to the smallest Aran Island then see the Cliffs of Moher from the ferry. That was great fun and what a view. Only problem we had was they say the breakfast is served across the street in Fitzpatrick's Bar. They were supposed to be open at 8am but it was shut tight. We had to go to a small shop about a block away for breakfast items because we had reservations for the ferry.
I asked about it later that day and found out it isn't in the bar after all. It would have been nice if they told us that when we checked in.

Room tip: There are first floor rooms if you need them

We stayed here for one night, check in was not until 4 pm and check out at 11. The room was freezing, (no.3). There was mould on the ceiling and I could feel the cold breeze coming in through the windows. Very disappointing for the price, and no breakfast included.

Ideal location for wedding guests looking for accommodation. Right across from Hotel Doolin. The accommodation itself was great. Room was spacious, beds were comfy, bathroom was clean and shower was hot and powerful. Tea and coffee was plentiful, replaced daily.
The only negative was that the room itself was in need of light maintenance like a few bulbs needing replacing and the iron and ironing board, which was shared amongst the guesthouse, needs replacing/upgrading. Otherwise everything was perfect!

Surprisingly nice and luxury accomodation in center of Doolin, opposite the Doolin hotel, TV, WiFi and everything that is normally expected from the hotel, and very reasonable prices. Falls under Doolin hotel as well as 3 restaurants opposite the place.

As I looked at options for where to stay, I was confused by descriptions about being both in the middle of this town but also without any neighbors (except cows); it is, indeed, the truth.

Doolin is small, but very accommodating, and convenient for access to the Cliffs of Moher and more. And Cullinan's has the charm and service of a B&B (without the breakfast) with access to everything you'd want from a hotel, both in and out of Cullinan's. (The building itself has some common areas, one of which has a fireplace. In addition, the hotel across the street, that operates/owns Cullinan's, has lobby fireplace, courtyard, and is attached to a bakery/cafe and pub.)

Very friendly and helpful staff, comfort, and convenience!
