There's no doubt about it, this place ticks the boxes...... the barn is converted sympathetically and talks olde worldy with-all-the-trimmings! Gifts galore and greetings cards which you might stand and howl with laughter at - just as we did.
Lunch was okay - not fantastic - but okay. On my black-pudding and chicken salad, the chicken was tough I'm afraid and the salad was so leafy, it was difficult to eat. Restaurants always say that you should speak up and they'd have put it right and that is highly likely of this lovely venue however, for lunch, you just want to eat and go and to be perfectly honest, there was so much food on my plate, that I was not left hungry at all so it just wasn't worth saying anything. I have absolutely no doubt that they would have made it all right had I done so.
My husband thoroughly enjoyed his ham hock and mature cheddar sandwich - which surprisingly (nice-surprise) was served warm. Lovely.
Tea for two topped it off and the teapot kept giving...... two generous cups or more like three each. And all for under £18.
Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Relaxing and lovely venue.
Really, who can complain at that? We will go back and hopefully that will be soon.
