“Amazing Property - Perfect for large groups - Photos do not do it justice!”
Reviewed 3 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I booked Depot Road for a University Reunion (12 People) and all that attended would have to agree that this property is just perfect for a group getaway! This is for a number of reasons:
1) When we were arrived we were greeted with a welcome basket of beer, haribo and welsh cakes! spot on after a long journey!
2) The living areas are HUGE the photos just do not do it justice - with more than enough seating for 12+ adults!
3) The local area is great for walking/cycling - and only a half an hour drive to gorge walking and quad biking activities etc
4) The kitchen was well stocked, pots pans etc so easy to do on mass cooking
5) The property was really clean and the owners were really helpful with any queries I had!

All in all a lovely weekend! Many Thanks :)

Liked best: The garden - it has a massive outdoor wooden table which can fit about 16 people round it and importantly a large bbq!
Liked least: I personally found the property ideal - however there are no picturesque views from the house/garden itself! You would need to wander up the road for that!

“fabulous for families”
Reviewed 7 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

4 families stayed here in May 2013. The accomodation is spacious, luxurious and equipped with everything you could possibly want. Lots of lovely touches - like an old desk full of felt pens and paper for children to use.

The area is full of fun things to do with the family - the Afan mountain biking trail - 3 miles from the house - was up there with 'canyoning' according to my children. We hired bikes and spent a whole day whizzing around the trails - a bit like a ski resort there are trails for beginners all the way up to black scary ones for thrill seekers. There is even a skill circuit - with ramps, jumps and so on for amateurs. Our friends with small children hired bikes with trailers - and their 4 and 6 year old had an amazing time.

The Gower peninsula is about 3/4 hour away - we spent a day at Tor Bay - a stunningly beautiful beach - with sand dunes (8 children spent about 4 hours running up, rolling down..), streams for damming, and gorgeous cliff top walks all around. This is one of the best beaches I've ever visited. The sand is perfect for building sand castles etc.

Within 1/2 an hours drive there are amazing waterfall walks - we spent our final day here - there were even mad canyonning people leaping off of the tops into the deep pools. In summer these would be perfect for swimming - there are c30 waterfalls to explore.

Definately a great base for families - so near to beaches, the Brecons, the Afan valley.

“'Big brother' style accomadation in the valleys”
Reviewed 26 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Had a cracking time staying here in March ,the setup for sleeping, eating is very well layed out.great open plan lounge area with enough room for everyone.
kitchen can easily cope with catering for 12,well equiped with a huge open plan dining area.
Drying/wash room for clothing works really well, clothes could easily be washed and dried for use the next day.
Bike storage is very secure and has an area for washing them off.
Plenty of facilities locally, friendly pub, supermarket,Indian and Chinese takeaways all within walking distance.
All trails were within cycling distance or short car journey.
Highly recommend depotrd!
Will be planning another trip to Wales soon and will definately be staying here again.
