Peace and tranquility

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 26 Apr 2023
Had a fabulous weekend at the Killary Adventure Centre and stayed in the lodge. Superb accommodation that met all our needs. Great for a large getaway with ample beds in the 10 rooms. Kitchen and living rooms were more than enough the 28 guests. Archery and clay pigeon shooting was a great experience and professionally supervised by informative instructors. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: Food and drink is all you need to bring. Great local caterer’s available to make the experience...

We are a large family of 28 and so we find it difficult to get something suitable for everyone. Killary Lodge ticked all the boxes. It was in a great location with the most spectacular views, it has 10 bedrooms and all have their own toilet and shower room, it had a very large kitchen area, and great outdoor space. We could get the boy our wetsuits and walk to the adventure centre, ready to start our booked adventures. We don’t the water park and SUP board (best laugh ever) and we done some other Killary challenge thing that was good fun too. House has constant hot water in all rooms, towels are provided and the washing machine and dryer came in very handy. We loved staying there and will try to visit again. We used Connemara Coastal Lettings to book and Siobhan was absolutely amazing with us. She was a great help and found us the perfect holiday home and answered all of our very many questions. Leenan is a village just down the road and Tony the taxi driver brought us there and back so we could have a glass of wine with our meal. We got Tony’s number from the lads at the adventure centre who were always very helpful.
Only thing I would suggest is signage for the house. Every day we got at least 1 or 2 people walking past the adventure centre and up to the house and trying to walk straight into the house..... it says at the start of e one that it is private property but that didn’t stop people. They seemed to think it was either a coffee shop or some sort of open accommodation. So proper signage at the actual house would be a great benefit. Oh and if you do stay here, you can get clear drinking water from the adventure centre, just bring your empty bottles to be refilled. We look forward to returning. Thanks for for a great, memorable holiday.

We picked this venue for the family to be able to be together for our 50th wedding anniversary. There are 32 of us with 16 grandchildren whose ages ranged from 2 weeks to 18. The adventure centre was great for the older ones and the 2 main meals provided by the Misunderstood Heron catering was amazing both in quality and quantity. The Connemara National park nearby is a great place to visit and entrance there is free!!

A group of us stayed here for a hen last weekend. The Lodge itself is amazing & finished to a very high standard. We couldn't have asked for a more suitable venue for our group to hang out & relax. We completed the Turf Challenge with Killary Adventure Centre which was so much fun & I highly recommend it if you want a good laugh!

We planned a trip to the Clifden Arts Festival and decided to make a night of it. A friend had mentioned Killary Lodge and we booked in. The location is stunning and the Lodge itself is fab. Beautifully, tastefully, creatively designed it was a real treat to stay there. Put it on your bucket list, it’s not to be missed.
