Upon arrival, you sit in a lounge/living room type space to peruse the menu. They take your order there. Then you are finally seated. This was a bit off putting to my elderly mom who I had put through her paces all day (lots of walking). She wanted a glass of wine as soon as possible (and I don't blame her because I was tired and I'm 28 years younger). The dinner was served in courses and the food was lovely and some of the best we had in Ireland. The dining room is lovely and overlooks the water and their gardens. It really could not be prettier. However, we learned that dining in Ireland is a bit different than in the US. You have to chase people down to pay your bill, it's not generally brought to you. This is definitely understandable in a pub but it's a bit strange to have to search for someone in a more fine dining type experience.
