The staff in the hotel are really excellent, in particular in the restaurant where they are very efficient, friendly and attentive. Food is of high quality and the breakfast buffet was varied very well presented. The hotel is a little dated and jaded in places, and the room had zero ventilation or air conditioning, but these are minor issues, and it is a nice choice for a short break. The bar and restaurant have great views of the falls.
The hotel is really only let down by the sloppy effort of their Spa facilities. The outdoor Jacuzzi and sauna were out of commission and the guy at the Spa welcome counter was borderline patronising, you felt that your presence was interrupting his phone-fiddling time. Changing room lockers had no keys, hence unsecure for storing phones and wallets, and only provided cold showers. Irritatingly you had to pay €3.50 for a flimsy branded hat to use the pool. If towels are complementary, so should the hat be, they are washable like towels. The whole ‘spa’ effort is a real let down and needs some serious overhauling to match the hotel standard.More
