“Nice one night stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2016

Large hotel conveniently located near the center of town in this nice seaside village. Very friendly staff. Room was decent and free parking
was available. Breakfast was average. I would stay here again.

This hotel was awful. It could have been amazing. The rooms were clean and spacious but the facilities which lead us to book in were not there at all. We had a deluxe family room, the sofa bed was painful and not adequate as a bed. A few bunks beds and these rooms would be amazing. The breakfast looked well set out but it was mostly burnt to a crisp. The pool ; We had found an amazing B&B but then saw there was a hotel with a pool and great space on offer with two room deluxe bedrooms, so immediately went for the extra fun and space in this hotel. The beds I explained. When we went to take the kids to the pool we were told to hurry as the whole hotel would close down at 12pm so best that one person packs the bags and vacate the room while another had a quick splash with the kids. It was not good to hear and yet the poor guy was trying so hard to be nice while delivering the news. The car park was operated by codes, which never worked. When we tried to get into our room our key had lost its coding. And as I went to reception through the maze of corridors all the receptionist wanted to know was when the bill would be paid, it was still before check out...we packed and left with our six year old asking repeatedly would we get locked into the hotel ! As we left...on time - the receptionist never asked one word of how our trip was, had we far to go, have a nice day...the usual lingo of a business with people. Perhaps she knew not to ask. For what we were charged it is not close to its description and is not a great family hotel. Poor food, poor bedding, poor parking, poor facilities, poor reception, poor value. Amazing town with lovely people, who explained our error off picking 'a nama hotel' !

The Lahinch Golf and Leisure hotel definitely isn't the most luxurious place in the world but that being said it's still a very nice hotel, at a great location and has very friendly staff.

I stayed here with three friends and the two rooms we got were really nice and had a shared living room/kitchen area.

All in all I would recommend the Lahinch Golf and Leisure Hotel.

Firstly - I'm amazed that Lahinch's main Hotel isn't better than this. There's a huge amount of people visiting Lahinch all year round and this Hotel feels like it hasn't improved since the 80s. We stayed in an apartment with 2 Adults and 3 kids and it was clean, which is the most important thing. The pull out bed that the 2 boys were supposed to sleep in was brutal - they spent the second night on sleeping bags on the floor, it was so uncomfortable - I'd have thought sticking a set of bunks or 2 twins in there would pay dividends, allowing them to charge more for the room.
These days, it's quite easy and not hugely expensive, for Hotels to provide more than 4 TV channels - with Irish weather it's often handy. The Wifi was rubbish aswell. The reason this Hotel gets a 3 and not a 2 or 1 is because it was clean and in fairness it wasn't overpriced. The booking process was very badly handled, the swimming pool is way out of date, the staff weren't the friendliest and the restaurant is not at all inviting.

This is more like an American motel/hotel than an Irish place. It is fairly modern and is not very rustic. It seems to cater to golfers. The hotel was clean, the young lady running it was nice, friendly and efficient. The breakfast was good. It just doesn't have much charm.
