Honestly this just wasnt great. Foyer is clean and modern. Corrider to room was incredibly long, capets and curtains dirty. Room was Ok and bathroom was new so good there. Floor peeling off coridor on way to playcentre. I found staff reluntantant to make eye contact or smile. This Hotel is just very tired and dated and could do with significant upgrading. Had booked 2 nights but only stayed for one. I appreciate every business is doing their best and providing employment is to be commended but surely a few basic measures would go a very long way . Advice- Hire a carpet cleaning machine and dump the old curtain in corridors.

I do not normally write reviews, but in this instance I felt compelled to as the service received was above expectations. As other reviewers have highlighted, the decor in the public parts of the hotel (particularly the carpet) could do with updating, but that really is the only fault we could find with the hotel.
The food also is very good, especially bearing in mind this is a three start hotel. We had two lovely breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, and the service on all occasions was polite, professional, and friendly.
What really prompted me to write this review was that when our daughter was ill on the second day of our stay, the front of house staff (a lady whose name I am ashamed to say I can't recall) was so helpful. She arranged for the medicine to be stored in a fridge and then arranged for our full four course dinner to be delivered to our room (we had only asked for the room service menu, but she insisted that we had the whole meal). There was no tray charge for this and the staff that brought up our food were so nice. All the staff we interacted made a stressful situation much better, and we are so grateful for that. That is real hospitality!
And to top it off, the lady from reception bumped into us the next morning and enquired how everything was. This may not seem like very much, but trust me, having stayed in Dublin hotels recently, which were meant to be four star, and having been subjected to rude staff and a lack of basic customer service, the staff at the Inn at Dromoland were exceptional and should be praised for their work ethic and hospitality, even when they were clearly busy.
My only other comment is that I hope management put a facility on the credit card payment/room charges pages for tips to be allocated. We, like I suspect many other people nowadays, don't ever have cash on us and we were unable to add a tip on in the restaurant when signing for food as we normally do, so I feel awful that we were unable to tip the staff, but will ensure I bring cash on our return visit. Thank you gain for a really lovely stay.

I'm fascinated at the negativity in some reviews. Six friends stayed her the night of September 1st. Accomodation was extremely clean. Beds were two doubles in each room. We had two connected rooms which was great for getting together. Views from our windows were beautiful. We had gorgeous coffee/tea and scones on our arrival, as part of our deal. Dinner was also part of deal and really good. Great craic in the bar afterwards with very good trad band playing. Staff were extremely helpful and cheerful. I would definitely recommend to groups of friends.
