I arrived at the Laurel House on a late Monday evening, my intended stay being purely for work commitments. The B&B was organized for me by the company, and not being familiar with the location or the accommodation itself, I followed through with their recommendation.
Dolores had been notified of my late arrival, and if that annoyed her, her friendly face and welcoming approach did not show it. She quickly showed me to my suite, informed me of all the services available, set a breakfast hour and left me to unwind.
I gathered a family suite had been booked from the large double bed and the single bed, both neatly arranged with fresh bed sheets, lots of cushions and blankets. The TV, set up with Sky+ kept me entertained, and if that wasn't there, the array of books by the night stand would have done so, as well. Attentive touches in the suite such as board games in the drawer, cotton buds and pads in the bathroom, a hair straightener available really transform this suite into a proper home. The shower, my favourite part, had beautiful pressure and fresh, clean towels after made it so much more relaxing.
Dolores' welcoming face greeted me again in the morning, and was happy to provide my cheeky breakfast request of pancakes at that early hour. Served on beautiful plates and having an amazing view, it was the start to a day you'd think was a movie.
My short overnight stay has me very eager to come back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comforting and truly relaxing place for a getaway. The heart and soul of the family is evident in this B&B, from the smallest to the biggest details, and that you can't put a price on.
