“A little gem!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed here over the weekend for one night. We weren't sure what to expect before we arrived but were delighted with the warm welcome we received and the spacious and very comfortable room that awaited us! I believe the hotel has recently come under new management and there is obviously a lot of dedication going towards making this lovely hotel a must stay location in Youghal! It has a warm homely feel, relaxed yet professional atmosphere, and above all we had a great sleep, in fact we wished we had booked an extra night to stay longer in the very comfortable bed! Breakfast variety was really good, plenty of choice for the cooked breakfast option, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs amongst other things! We opted for the full Irish which was presented really well, was very tasty and served with brown bread and toast. We will definately stay here again and recommend it highly!

The two Marks have raised the bar for food in Youghal.
The Dinner Menu was excellent value and the quality second to none.
The deserts were also fab.
Makeover of dining room is refreshing.
Dont change the ambiance of the middle +front bar.

We needed somewhere to stay at short notice (11pm at night after a family event) and the Old Imperial could not have been more accommodating. The room was clean and tidy and the staff were so helpful throughout our three night stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good too!

Chose this hotel for it's location in the center of Youghal. Booked for a week hoping for the heatwave that has been promised. Sadly that did not happen. The hotel was nice, Maintaining a touch of yesteryear but still meeting today's standards of comfort and service. The food was very good and reasonably priced with a good choice on the menu. The only draw back was that I have a mobility problem and the smoking rooms were on the top floor and the hotel does not have a lift. After struggling up the stairs each evening I half expected to be met at the door to our room by St Peter. We did however manage to survive the week and avoid the pearly gates. The staff were great and we did enjoy our stay. Youghal is a quaint little town and the main street is flat an advantage for some of us more elderly visitors with mobility problems. The quay was a short walk from the hotel and had the weather been better I would have enjoyed a day out in a boat fishing. Fishing trips can be arranged through the hotel. Cork and Cobh are within easy driving distance. In my view the hotel offers very good value for money and we will no doubt return if we get a decent spell of weather.
