My wife and I stayed here for a weekend and really enjoyed it, very laid back and relaxed atmosphere, all the staff were very pleasant and helpful without getting in your face. The food was excellent and the breakfast should not be missed, spent a lot of time wondering around sightseeing and then back to our very spacious and comfortable room for a freshen up before heading out.

Stayed overnight for B&B with dinner and was really happy with our stay! The food was excellent, a minor issue with noise in our original room was quickly and graciously sorted by the very friendly hosts with an upgrade to a suite which was lovely. Suite was spacious, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Common room with blazing fire and beautiful old style furnishings was a lovely addition. This townhouse has alot of character and a personal touch than you might not find with a hotel stay.

We stayed here for one night. The owners were very welcoming and pleasant. The room was clean with comfortable beds. We very much enjoyed the roaring fire in the common room to relax by after a long day. Breakfast was excellent.

Had 3 courses was good but small issues
Had the chicken liver pate to start flavour and taste was very good but portion was a bit on the small side , had seared scallop for main on roasted veg risotto scallops were cooked to perfection but the risotto was small bit of a let down tomato flavour dominated the risotto and couldn't taste the nice roasted veg flavours lost behind the tomatoes. The summer pudding was o.m.g. good nice amount of tartness coming from the berrys with just the right amount of added sweetener and lightly whipped cream this dish was flawless. Overall I had a good experience here service was good but for money payed I thought it was a little pricey portions are a bit on the small side. All in all I would return here food is of good quality and service is good

We found this B&B via Karen Brown's Blog (hint - great place to identify itineraries and hotels thru out Ireland). Aherne is a rather famous place for its food (Prawns in Garlic Sauce) and hospitality as it's been run by the same folks for generations. Need some advice what to see? They really help out. Want a fun pub - they have the answer. If you're in the area make sure you stay here!

Room Tip: No problems all rooms are quiet
