The Clanree from the very start was great service and very friendly staff throughout our stay. Was actually surprising as it felt very personal every time and that today is rare. Nothing was ever too much. The rooms were comfortable and modern. Beds comfortable. The breakfast was a great selection and fresh... i love the fact that although it is buffet style, the hot food is served to you by a chef/cook as you choose! Stops any wondering fingers touching the food or mixing one food with another that you usually find with self service. The hotel had 2 weddings during our stay and yet you never felt like you were in the way or took a back seat as a guest. Mcgettigen’s was a lovely little pub attached with the hotel, always lively, serves lovely lunches and has a live singer in the evening which my party thoroughly enjoyed! The hotel itself is beautiful inside, being on quite a main road, we didn't expect much but once inside you would never tell! It was a great base for us to go exploring all of Donegal. Right near the shops and local shopping centre/supermarkets too for any extras you may need. Our only minor problem we found was our rooms were so hot at times so made sleeping a bit of a problem on the first night! We were told by reception unfortunately this was down to being right above...The Clanree from the very start was great service and very friendly staff throughout our stay. Our only minor problem we found was our rooms were so hot at times so made sleeping a bit of a problem on the first night! We were told by reception unfortunately this was down to being right above the leisure facilities, Sauna, steam room etc. So the heat tends to travel through into the rooms. We rectified that with fans that were promptly brought to our rooms and helped a lot. So my only advice would be if travelling in warmer months, request away from the leisure facilities side or ask for a fan on arrival for your room. Overall our stay was fantastic and we have all said we will definitely go back on our next visit. I have stayed in several of the hotels in the area and for me, The Clanree is by far one of the best and worth consideration!More
