I challenge you not to fall in love with the distinctively local, earthy, completely original proprietess and her huge selection of whiskeys. (I did, and I'm not even heterosexual.) Whatever you do, just don't ask about Stephen Spielberg's relationship to this place. It's supposed to be a secret.

Great Whiskeys, great atmosphere! We stayed in Ballyvaughn for a fortnight and were there every night. Sometimes great music. Margret (the owner) is fantastic in getting people together for good talks.

Had a weekend in Ballyvaughan with mates, so paid a visit on a Friday night. Received a great welcome from Margaret, the pub is small with great atmosphere no tv or music so great for real pub talk and putting the world to right. Good selection of whiskey and Gin that does not give a hangover. Had such a good night went back the second night.

If Whiskey, good pints and friendly service is required, then this is the place to be.
No music, no TV, no gaming machines, just the magic of people doing what we do best, getting to share our stories over a pint, or one of the finest selections of Whiskey in the country. The staff and locals are welcoming and warm, especially Margaret who is very knowledgeable about her Whiskey.
Love this rare, gem of a pub, pay a visit while you can, this type of place is getting very scarce in Ireland.

Great little pub, very traditional and snug, maybe a little expensive? But very nice all the same.
Worth a visit.
