We rented a lovely house called Sea View from Rathmullan Cottages. It was quite difficult to find as it was on someones farmland. We were greeted by a lady who informed us there was a dog on the property and she would be visiting twice a day to feed and walk it (great privacy not!!!!). The house itself was as pictured on the website on the inside unfortunately the outside was gravel all around and the exterior hadnt been finished off. There was nowhere to sit outside, however there was a spectacular view.
There were no instructions on how to use anything in the property so it was trial and error with the switches. The spa bath looked lovely until the handle of the hot tap came off in ur hand. The wifi was a plug in sim card with 4G which you had to top up yourself..so wifi available is an exageration. Having a lovely lie on on the 3rd day to alarms going off...it transpired that a pipe burst in the airing cupboard and was flooding through the ceiling into the kitchen and dining room. We couldnt turn the electrics off as water was pouring through the fuse box. We called the contact number and although the lady's reaction was unpreterbed . We sadly packed and left the soggy damp property.
I contacted the owner of Rathmullen Cottages he dealt with the problem swiftly, contacting the owner of the house and although I did get a portion of my money back, it didn't make up for my holiday being ruined

I always wanted to go to discover the hidden treasures of Donegal, so last year we booked in and drove up with the family, It was a long drive but when we got there it was well worth the drive , epic scenery , white sand wind swipe beaches, mouth watering sea food to die for!!! The cottage was all that we asked for , clean , well maintained, quite are too, also a few things we didn't expect but in a good way ,we had stair gates and the cottage was child friendly for our 2 half year-old , even a baby feeding chiar. The local area is steaped in Irish customs and history and the people can't do enough for you , you will feel like you were born and raised in the middle of the town. Super staycation !!
