We enjoyed a morning of hiking the trails, watching children play in the park, people walking their dogs and taking in the beautiful scenery. We then enjoyed tea at the tea room at the entrance to the park.

I did this walk over the weekend, taking in both the Dalkey hill and the Killiney hill. I found the view from Killiney hill to be far more interesting - but then, I love the view towards Sugarloaf, so maybe that's why. Killiney hill is also higher than Dalkey hill, but the path up, though steep, is easier because the steps are quite wide and make for a good climb. The steps up Dalkey hill, though far fewer, do have a few lose rocks/ stones and so needed more care. A good pair of walking shoes is a must - and a bottle of water.

We wound up on Killiney Hill by accident! Everyone said how awesome it was and that the views were breathtaking! But traveling with 5 teen/preteen boys, you never know what is going to be a hit. We stopped at the park to get some air and just happened up the trails, I'm so glad we did! The views were all they said and more! You could see for miles and the walk was beautiful. There were some small (by their standards, big by mine!) cliffs and some locals there to climb them. All my boys loved it, too! The other side of the hill was a fabulous walk along the beach! If you're near here, stop by on purpose!

Killiney Hill is a lovely place to visit in Dublin. A regular walk for locals, with stunning panoramic views south over Killiney bay to Bray and Wicklow, the Sugar loaf mountain and beyond and north over the Dublin skyline and the entire Dublin bay. With Killiney beach and Dalkey right on the doorstep, you can even visit Bono and Enya's locales, its one of the nicest and most relaxing places to visit for a leisurely stroll. There is a lovely tea rooms serving coffee, tea, soup, sandwiches and cakes too.
You can even go rock climbing in Dalkey quarry.
