Reviewed 19 April 2009

We found this B&B at an online booking site when a last minute change in plans created a need for a B7B on short notice. Fortunately the Old Rectory in Bray had a room available and for a great price. it is located about 2 miles from the South Bray exit on the N11. The driveway is obscured by brush, but there is a "concealed entrance" warning sign on Herbert Road to alert you that you are almost upon it. There is plenty of gravel parking in front of the house. Our room was comfortable, with in room coffee and tea making supplies, and an en suite bathroom. It appears that the original room was made ensuite by walling off the rear 3 feet of the room and building the bathroom inside. It was done professionally and actually looks quite nice, like a false closet door.
Our lamps weren't working, but the hostess came up and fixed the problem quickly.

The house is quite cozy, with many antiques and paintings used to decorate. The neighborhood was quiet and appeared safe. Our drive time from the Old Rectory to the Dublin Airport was 35 minutes on a Saturday morning. If you wanted to, you could take the DART from Bray into Dublin.
