Stayed just the one night and found this hotel very comfortable. Our room was extremely large, well appointed and spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfast was really good as was the service throughout. We will certainly not hesitate to return.

We stayed in the hotel for a weekend break and came away with some mixed opinions. The rooms and decor were really good and the entire place was spotless. Staff (more so the younger ones) were very friendly and helpful, again very well turned out. The food menu's read great but the delivered dishes didn't stand up to their description. Breakfast was a big let down it (full Irish) was cold and consisted of obvious cheap produce with rubbery tasteless meat.
The grounds of the hotel are very nice for walking and the hotel is surrounded by what looked like a very well maintained golf course, it also has a nice leisure center with pool.
Although the hotel was busy there was no entertainment on at night which really surprised me particularly as there is nowhere near by to go, It would have been nice to sit in the bar with a few beers and some music but instead we retired to our room a little bored.
In summary, the experience itself did not reach the standard I would have expected for the price, the food is expensive and not nearly justifiable and there is no atmosphere. Maybe good for a golf group or function but not a venue for a couples special weekend away.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your taking the time to post your recent review. We appreciate all feedback be it both positive and negative. We are delighted to hear that you had experienced great customer service and that you felt that the hotel facilities were excellent. We do apologise in regards to the breakfast and will definitely investigate this further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. In regards the entertainment, this is disappointing to hear. We do host live entertainment in our bar every Saturday evening maybe on this occasion you did not get to experience this, which is a shame.

Again we would like to thank you for your feedback would love to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future whereby we hope that you will see some improvements.

Kind regards

We stayed here recently with another couple. from start to finish we were treated very well. Check in was seamless, our room on the 3rd floor was great, roomy, good view and an extremely comfortable bed,
The pool area would benefit from some work, some tiles etc. need to be replaced. the only complaint would be that parents seem to be unable or unwilling to control children in the pool, in fact the fathers behaviour was worse than the children!! I also don't get the fixation with wearing swim caps. it seems to be a totally wasted exercise with some wearing them and others disregarding the request completely.
we were booked in for our evening meal, and on our arrival we were greeted and seated by staff in an extremely efficient and pleasant manner. t
The menu was wide and varied and the food when it came did not disappoint. portions were generous and the food was cooked perfectly. This was a trip away to celebrate a wedding anniversary and when we moved to the bar to round off the evening I was given a gift form the hotel to mark the occasion, this was a beautiful touch, and was very much appreciated.
We had a really good nights sleep as the room was quiet and the bed really comfortable. this was our first time to stay with you, but definitely will not be our last.
the breakfast was again lovely, plenty of choice, all nicely served.

Room Tip: All rooms are good

Loved this hotel, great big rooms, great efficient friendly staff and a wonderful dinner menu with really great food. Excellent breakfast too with loads of choice. We played golf and all of our party enthused about the course which was beautifully manicured, good greens and varied holes. Gerry in the golf shop was very helpful and even acted as photographer for our large group. Even the sun obliged for two whole days. Really lovely place. The hotel is a very old and beautiful house complete with walled garden full of roses and Apple trees. We will definitely be back

Room Tip: Just ask the staff for what suits you. It is located in the countryside and is quiet.
