We arrived, not having booked. They managed to squeeze us in. Being so busy was a good sign.
My Wife and I ordered different dishes, they were both delicious. Puddings we had were also delicious.
Staff were friendly and efficient.
So we returned the following evening, ordered different food on the menu and it was…….. delicious.
My wife and I stayed in Casey's for a week in September and really enjoyed the experience. Our room overlooked the back garden and was very quiet. There was some music from a bar across the road but it was not particularly loud and ended each evening before 11:30. The room itself was fresh and clean.
We had booked dinner there on the first night and the food was so good and reasonably priced that we came back every night. Breakfast was also excellent and service for both meals was quick.
My only concern was that while both customers and staff were wearing masks there were no covid pass checks that I saw for the restaurant for residents or walk in's which was disappointing.

As per government guidelines of 26th July 2021 Residents of a Hotel are not obliged to show a covid certificate nor are those who avail of outdoor dining. We do check covid certificates of non residents who dine indoors, and we take contact details of everyone who comes to the hotel. The health and safety of our family, staff, guests and our community is very important to us so we follow all guidelines as set out by the government.
The starters were beautiful and we were expecting the same for mains but it wasn’t to be. The lasagne is completely tasteless and the steak was not cooked to liking and also lacked taste.
I would still recommend eating here as it does appear to be a good quality restaurant with good quality food. I think perhaps it may have just been a once off (giving the botd here). And the other reason I recommend is because the starters were amazing.
Would have ordered fish of course but all the fish I wanted to order was sold out.
Room was very tired, needs redecorating, bathroom was good with great shower, girl in bar was very rude when we asked as residents to be seated for a drink, we had 1 drink and left. The other staff in other parts of the hotel were friendly. Bed very uncomfortable. Breakfast was OK, full Irish was tasty and cooked well, 1 slice of brown bread each!! Scrambled egg was fine but smoked salmon was sliced very thick and tasteless,no variety on menu unlike other hotels we'd stayed at. we didn't eat dinner here we decided on somewhere else. Not worth the money we paid, we picked it as reviews were so positive but I honestly can't see why.
The outdoor setting was lovely and sheltered. The service was also brilliant. However, the food was a little disappointing. The tortellini had a lot of oil on it and the beef pie was like a bowl of meat with a piece of pastry on top. The fish and chips were quite nice with a light batter
